Statement

My work is masochistic, durational, and at times futile. I utilize pain and discomfort in provoking a specific response from the viewer that functions as a forced cooperation between performer and viewer. Due to my own unease in loss of control, I have played with struggles of power between artist and viewer, leaving the question of who is in control unanswered. I am interested in purposeless, repetitive behaviors that mock routine and feelings of obsession.  My studies within the field of psychology bring out my desire to observe natural behavior of the viewer. This also brings me to look at my work as experiments rather than artworks.
